Jose: I understand the difficulty and certainly the majority rules. Unfortunately for me Tysons Corner is going too far in the wrong direction on a weeknight and is *way* too far for such a meeting on the weekends. It's a shame - I've been hoping for a DC Cocoa group for a long time as well. :-(

J Nozzi: I had a hard time trying to figure out a place for the meeting. I figured I would go halfway between Reston and DC. I knew there was some activity in the Reston area, and I can only guess there might be people interested inside the beltway. The DC area is very large and clearly no single point will be convenient for everyone. I suspect people will not want to travel much for an informal weekly meeting. I would like to get a feel first for where the interest arises. For the time being I will keep this meeting at the same place. IF you want to read more please take a look at my site (under construction) at http://greenmangos.wordpress.com/

The best way is to just subscribe to the posts feed on http://nscodernight.com/ — that way you'll get the latest news as it happens.

One thing to remember, though, is that the intent is to have NSCoder Night weekly at a stable time and place so there won't be any work involved in remembering that it's happening. It's also an informal event so if you can't make it to one it's no big deal; it's not like you'll miss a presentation or anything.

I can't believe I missed it -- by one lousy day. I've been hoping for a cocoa meeting group in DC for a long time.

What's the best way to stay abreast of these?

It'd be great to get something started in the area however I propose that Tyson's Corner on a weeknight is not the best choice. Suggestions:

- Half-way point in the Balt/Wash region. Columbia?
- Weekends only?

Many of us work in the day, live further away (in all directions), and have family lives. An easier schedule and medium location will attract far more attendees.
